Lakes, irrigation and plumbing in planned communities
Many Doral neighborhoods are planned, with man-made lakes, shared irrigation and associations that manage common areas. Water issues often start with a supply line to a washing machine or ice maker, a water heater in a garage closet, or an air conditioner drain that backs up above a ceiling.
Newer homes use PVC drain lines and plastic supply tubing, which do not corrode, but fittings can fail and nails can puncture pipes. Large windows and sliding doors can leak in storm-driven rain. In tall buildings, risers and stacks serve many units, so one failure can reach more than one apartment.
